How do you get the most realistic picture out of a plasma TV?  Black has to be truly black. This was the goal and the result for the folks at Pioneer while developing the KURO plasma display line of TV’s. The new 2008 line of flat panel plasma TV’s from Pioneer feature black levels five times deeper than the previous award-winning KURO models.

Pioneer believes that the new line of KURO displays will be a groundbreaking step towards HDTV perfection. The benefits of a true black include finer detail, greater contrast, and more importantly, the ability to produce deeper colors not achievable before.

As photographers know, true black in a printed picture enhances the look of the photograph immeasurably. This is true of people who produce television programming and movies. The KURO line of TV’s provide an experience just as the producer intended.

Picture quality isn’t the only improvement in the line.  Sound can be tailored to the listener’s total enjoyment and the experience can be heightened through the TV’s ability to adjust between standard, movie, sports, performance, game and dynamic sound settings.

The 3.7 inch thick KURO television offers a feature called Optimum Mode, which adjusts the picture to the room lighting and sound tailored to the programming.  An auto volume stabilization feature of the TV automatically maintains the volume level when switching between different types of programming.
